Konnect
Community's main function
is to be a presence in the community,
respecting the dignity of all we come
in contact with, regardless of where
their current situation may find them.
Some of the areas we have had influence:
•Homeless
Shelter
In this outreach, we encourage people
by interacting with them as we provide
a hot meal for them. Many unexpectedly
find themselves in this unfortunate
situation and just need to be encouraged
as they work through their current circumstances.
We are seeing hope and change take place
in their lives as we interact with them,
spending time to hear their story.
•Christmas
Fund
Every Christmas we provide gifts for
young children who would otherwise receive
very little. Where resources permit,
we also provide a Christmas meal to
as many of those families as possible.
It truly is a rewarding experience to
invest in lives in this small way at
Christmas-time, believing that every
family should be able to look forward
to Christmas morning with a little excitement,
hope and encouragement.
•Seniors
Ministry
We are involved in the lives of Senior
Citizens, providing assistance and encouragement.
Often, because of their age and previous
lifestyle, they might not have family
members visiting at all or able to give
hands-on help. We have found families
can live at a far distance, leaving
the Senior to work things out on their
own. We step in and provide encouragement
and care where their family is not able.
We have also found Seniors without any
family or friends; either they have
never been married and had children
and whatever immediate family and friends
they did have passed away.
